Youzishan Village
Youzishan Village is situated at the northern gateway of Dongba Street in Gaochun District, Nanjing, at the foot of Youzi Mountain and on the shores of Gucheng Lake — a beautiful, livable retreat where mountains and water meet. Rolling low hills, dense forests covering 86% of the area, and the crystal-clear Gucheng Lake reflecting the surrounding peaks create a landscape of graceful beauty and ecological richness. The village carries deep cultural significance: named after Confucius, who is said to have traveled here to lecture, it is the largest community of Confucius's descendants in China outside of Qufu, Shandong. Ancient sites including Zhenru Chan Temple, Zhenwu Temple, and Wensheng Temple remain well-preserved, with stele inscriptions and scholarly traditions passed down through the generations. Here, you can wander between lake and mountain, visit millennium-old heritage sites, contemplate Confucian culture, and enjoy a leisurely immersion in nature and human history.
